He turns to look at the clock. "We're supposed to let it 'simmer' for five minutes, then add in the rest of it, whisk so that it heats through and serve it. As for the pasta," he said, checking the timer. "We've still got a few minutes on that too." So far so good. Maybe this cooking thing wasn't so bad after all?
