Ianto held his tongue. This was Jack's to explain, so he sat back, only squeezing Jack's knee to show him that he knew how difficult that it was to answer Akihiko's question.

Jack sighed in defeat, leaning closer into Akihiko, turning to face him. "Gray...is my brother. He--I was in charge of keeping him safe, but I let go of his hand. When we were kids.
