The only reason Sulu didn't give Jack a play-by-play of the conversation was because he wanted to avoid telling Jack all about how annoyed McCoy was at him for not bringing this to him from the start. At least, with the way this was going, he could tell McCoy was really going to help, and he'd want to as soon as possible.

"McCoy's pretty good about these kinds of things," Sulu said after a moment of typing a response back, smiling sympathetically at Jack. "The medbay is comfortable enough, and if Ianto's looking well enough, I doubt he'd do much more than make faces and lecture you for a bit about climbing in with him. He wouldn't ban you, though. You'd have to be detrimental to his health to get kicked out." Or really obnoxious.
