[LOG WITH SULU][forward-dated to valentine's day]
Ianto had gotten back from Owen's birthday party and immediately gone to the fridge to get himself a lager. He had intended to leave early that night to sober up, but. He needed the alcohol. Needed the burn and the haze to get over the fact that he had just been talking to a friend that would be dead in a few months time. A friend who he'd watched die once already, and well. Yes, it was Valentine's day, and Sulu was coming over, but Ianto needed to wind down a little bit, and this was the only way he could think of accomplishing it fast enough.
He'd shucked his waistcoat and tie, glad that it wasn't nearly as warm there as it had been in Miami, and was laying sideways on his couch, nursing the beer and thinking about well. Everything really. More than anything, he was glad that the other man was coming over, so he could get his mind off of what he'd been fixating on for the past while. Owen's birthday being Valentine's Day...that was just damned awful timing, Ianto decided, and really hoped that him being upset about Owen wasn't going to ruin their evening.

He was too tired out to really resist, though, so after a few moments of just trying to keep his breath and not lose it all over again, he carefully rolled to the side, pulling Ianto's hand from his back and holding it between his own. "Do you really need to get up?" he asked plaintively, too tired to muster up the energy to really lay it on thick but trying nonetheless.

"...yes," Ianto said, with a groan. "I... I really do." He lay there for another moment, gathering the inner strength and resolve, moving to clutch Sulu's hands gently before rolling over and moving to sit on the edge of the bed for a moment, gathering the reserve to finally stand up and make his way to the bathroom for a wet washcloth. He did most of the cleanup for himself while he was there, just to save himself the time and energy of doing it when he returned, getting another washcloth and wetting it and returning to the bedroom to collapse back in next to the other man. "Here," he said, holding it out to him.

Still, when the other returned, holding out a wet washcloth, he moved to sit himself up on his elbow, taking it with his free hand and making a valiant attempt to clean himself up. He dropped the towel onto the side-table once he was done with it, realizing belatedly that they were still sideways on the bed. Part of him just wanted to pull the blanket over them and stay that way, but he knew it'd be more comfortable if they actually were using it properly. He wrapped his arms around Ianto. "Might have to move again," he warned.

"Nnnn," he said, exasperating, "I'm... Not sure that I can move and get up again," he said, and alright, yes, he was whining a little bit. But he figured he was allowed. He was absolutely exhausted, after all, and he had hoped that he could just go to sleep right there and then. Pushing himself up and shifting to lie down properly was going to take effort that he didn't know that he had at that moment.

"See?" he said, grinning a little at Ianto as he shifted close to the other's side. "All better. No moving required." Sure, it wasn't going to really work, but. It was the thought that counted.

"No, come on. We're both going to be stiff tomorrow if we sleep like this, let's...do it the proper way," he said, as he dragged himself to a regular sleeping position, pulling the blanket away from Sulu and with him. Once he had himself situated, he held out a hand to the other man, motioning for him to join him. He really wanted nothing more than to wrap himself around Sulu's warm body and just pass out, and the sooner Sulu moved to lie down with him, the sooner he could do that, after all.

Settling in against Ianto, Sulu's eyes had a hard time staying open. "Mm," he mumbled, trying to talk but failing miserably at that moment. Finally, he managed to say, "Is that better?" It was slurred a little, now that he was comfortable and sleepy, but thankfully it was still understandable.

"...sleep," he commanded, gently, not sure if Sulu was even awake to hear him anymore or not. They were both wiped, and Ianto himself didn't even have the energy or the desire to fight his eyes to stay open, settling back against Sulu, his body so relaxed that he was almost unconscious anyway. He knew that they weren't going to stay like this for very long. That they were going to fall asleep and Sulu was going to sprawl and he'd wake up somehow blanketed with the other man, but he didn't care. Because in that moment, despite all the drama earlier in the evening, everything was perfect.
