Agreeable enough. For a dinosaur.
[He's not exactly sure what John expects him to say.] There's this. Protein sauce, I suppose you could call it. I managed to train her so that she'd only eat the things I'd put it on. But that's as much as she'd listen to any of us, really.
[Look, he had a pterodactyl. He may even still. It's supposed to be a cool fact. Isn't it...]

That sounds like a euphemism, honestly.
He frowns, pushing off the wall and stepping closer as Ianto gets out the mugs. ]
Well, I think if you tried to fit her in here it'd turn into a scene from The Lost World with the dinosaurs loose in San Diego.
[ By which he means: not good. ]

Her wingspan is pretty much the width of this room end to end. Supposing we even got her in through the door we would soon live to regret it. So no, she’d definitely not be staying in the room here with us. If the Natha even have her, I’ll have to. Arrange for something.
[He frowns slightly as he moves to pour the coffee.] It’s too bad that Wyver is the city with the dragons. Though maybe I could get away with stabling her with the gryphons...

[ He picks up a cup once it's poured, turns to lean his hip against the counter and cradles it between his hands as he imagines all the possibilities. ]
That might just be a mothra versus godzilla situation.
[ If they can both fly, which one is mothra? That depends obviously on how friendly Myfanwy really is compared to the dragons. ]

I can't really say for certain until I see for myself. She never really had to deal with anything else than sheep in Wales, and mostly she just terrorized them. That's how I found her. But she had to have interacted with something before us. Not dragons, but. Other dinosaurs...?
[He casts a glance at the other man over his shoulder.] You know, I do realize that it would be much easier not to ask after her at all. That my life would be a lot simpler not to be responsible for a flying carnivorous menace. But I owe it to her. She doesn't deserve any of this. Certainly not to spend her life, what. Trapped in some tube or god knows what. Just because it would inconvenience me to have to find a way around all of this, yeah?
[He may not be able to save all of his friends but by god if they have Myfanwy he can at least do this much.]
no subject
[ Honestly. Still: ]
Obviously if we can help Myfanwy we will, I just think we should make sure that she has someplace safe to fly where she isn't going to be attacked by people or other animals.
[ He's just going to take a tired sip of this coffee now. ]

'We'? [Ianto asks, after a long moment's pause. Straightening to turn and look straight on at the other man. He hasn't thus far sounded very enthusiastic about the idea of her. Truthfully, he'd originally brought her up to talk about something fun. Dinosaurs are fun, right? And he has one! He really needs to work on his conversation tactics.] You don't need to -- the only thing you owe me at this point is a few hours' sleep, and that's hardly a fair trade.

[ That sounds like a recipe for at best getting hurt, at worst getting killed. Why would he let that happen? Obviously he's going to help! ]
no subject
Point taken. Very well, then. Once I get a chance, I'll ask about her, and if she's here. We'll look for somewhere right. Yeah?
[Outside of the city, probably. This is going to take a lot of logistics...]

[ He swaps his coffee to his other hand and reaches out to pat Ianto on the arm. ]
She'll be fine. Now, I'm gonna get cleaned up and then finish this coffee. Then, by the time we're all dressed there should be someplace open we can get something to eat. Hows that sound?
no subject
Sounds fine. [He flicks John a smile before stepping away from the counter and murmuring over the rim of his mug:] But you're buying.
no subject
[ Not that Ianto can really buy yet anyway. ]
Just give me a minute.
[ Then he'll take another big sip of the coffee and back up out of the kitchen, set it to one side as he swipes up a few things before vanishing away to the bathroom to get cleaned up. ]
