[RL WITH GWEN AND SULU]
Ianto pulled his jacket closer to him as he walked down the street towards the pub he was supposed to meet Gwen at. He'd gone home to change, and had just thrown on whatever he could find, because it was only Gwen, and let's face it. His head wasn't into looking good. It was still reeling from the fact that Jack, like a bloody child or something, had done something he'd explicitly told him not to do, and had ended up breaking his highly expensive machine that he'd customized himself, by the way. Of course, the damage was minimal, but he needed to wait until the spare part came in, and until then, Jack wasn't going to get any coffee from him whatsoever, even if he ordered out. Ianto wasn't sure how just quite yet, but he was going to try and make Jack regret what he'd done as much as he could.
He knew it sounded a bit juvenile, to work like that, but if that's what it came to, then that's what it would be. The shouting match he'd had with the other man that morning had sent him fuming for the whole day, to the point where he was probably snapping at Gwen more than he should be as well. He'd tried to hide down in the archives and avoid Jack as much as possible, but there was paperwork to be done that required Jack's signatures, and well. At the end of the day, when Gwen asked him if he'd like to go out for a drink, he'd all but cried in relief and heartily agreed. And so, exactly on time for when they'd arranged to meet, Ianto opened the door and made his way into the pub, scanning the crowd for Gwen's familiar face.

He hadn't realized it, but as he looked at Gwen he'd sort of started to... well, pet Ianto's arm. He stopped quickly enough, but he wasn't going to pull his hand away. "He wanted to know how to make it up to you, you know," Sulu said slowly, "He really didn't mean to do it." Which wasn't much help, really, but he felt bad for both Jack and Ianto in that moment. Jack, because he broke Ianto's machine and honestly didn't know how to make it up to him, and Ianto because Jack was kind of an idiot.
Sorry it's so late! Gwen was being a problem child!
Well. At least you commented back now! Although Gwen's off of coffee for the next few days >8(
He sighed, glancing over to watch Gwen getting them drinks, knowing that they only had a few moments before she was back again, if he wanted to say anything while she wasn't around to make fun of him for it. "I'm sorry for whining at you. It really is nice to see you," he said, turning back to Sulu with a little smile. "When Gwen said she had a surprise for me, I thought... I don't know, that it was going to be some sort of embarrassing gift or another. Like...I don't know, a light up tie, or something." Owen had given him one once before. It played a tune. Gotten him very drunk, and convinced him to wear it out. Ianto had not been amused.

"And, I'm not surprised he drives you crazy." Jack seemed to have his heart in the right general area, but it didn't fix the general sense of... superiority, maybe? Or maybe just a lack of sensitivity. Either way, it made these kinds of situations even worse. "Just remember... he didn't do it because he wanted to make your life hard." His hand reached for Ianto's, "He's just... a captain. Sometimes they don't think about these things." Which wasn't necessarily true, but he was trying to help Jack out here, as well as trying to make Ianto feel better. The least he could do was try, right?

"It's just obvious that he wasn't thinking about what he was doing this time, and now all of us have to suffer because of it. That, and the fact that he hasn't exactly apologized for it, not really. I'm not going to lay off of him until he lets me know that he knows how he handled this was wrong." Ianto listened to himself, and then laughed. "God, it sounds like I'm disciplining a child, here."

"And, well..." He grinned and quirked a brow, "No offense to Jack, but you sort of are. He's not exactly the best at this communication thing." He looked over his shoulder, to see if Gwen had gotten their drinks or, more likely, possibly would want to interject either for or against Jack.

"Oi! Gonna drink 'em if you don't hurry over!"

"We'd better go and join her," he said, with a smile. "She's not kidding about drinking our drinks if we don't hurry. She's done it to me before." He wound his way across the pub, planting himself down in a seat. "I see that your talent for vulching tables has proved itself to be useful yet again," he said to Gwen, with a wink.

Chucking, Gwen pushed a beer over towards Ianto, then followed suit for Sulu before tucking into her own. The way she drank it made it pretty clear she wasn't exactly a shy girl when it came to drinking.
"He best not have ended up putting me on instant decaf this week. Not gonna be happy if he did."

"Don't worry about that, though. I'll... I'll just stop by the shop on the corner on the way in, for you and me, until that's done. I can't say that I'll do the same for Jack, though, so. I hope you're prepared for him throwing a fit for the next few days as he goes into caffeine withdrawal..."
He turned to Sulu. "Like I said, he's a child. He's going to be in a mood all week because I'll be ignoring him, and I really just don't have the patience to deal with it right now."
