5+1 Meme
Because all the cool kids are doing it:
5+1 meme! Leave a comment with a character/pairing, prompt, and anything else you might like to include, and I'll write you a fic!
Ex. Ianto/Sulu: five times that Sulu is a 21-year-old guy and ruins the moment, and one time that he successfully redeems himself despite that fact.
The characters I play are: Ianto Jones, Capt. Jack Harkness, Remus Lupin, Dee Laytner, and Germany.
I am currently in a creative kick, so please. Any and all prompts are welcome--feel free to request multiples, if you so feel the need, I don't mind. :D I promise that I'll actually get to all of them this time

"Easily," Sulu replied, as he browsed the shelves in front of him, looking a lot like a historian who'd stumbled on a secret stash of artifacts. "Places like these all but disappeared mid-21st century. The ones we've got left are more museum than actual rental places."
Ianto shook his head, smiling and following behind Sulu as he slowly traversed the shelves. It still boggled Ianto's mind, somewhat, the idea that everything he knew to be present would be history someday, but there it was. It was getting easier, though, especially when he brought Sulu around and watched him observing things meticulously, knowing that the man was cataloging living history and having a blast doing so. The man in question picked a title up off of the shelf. "Oh, man. I haven't seen this in years..."
Ianto reached out to take the box from him and put it back. "Nope. Not anything you know or could see then. You're in the 21st century--pick something new to you."
Sulu nodded, amused at being reprimanded. "Yeah, alright. That shouldn't be too hard to do..." He stepped back to look around. What was he talking about? he hadn't heard of most of these titles. Unless he wanted to just choose one at random (which was tempting, because that meant that they could get back to Ianto's flat and on with the date quicker), this might actually take some time. Ianto, sensing the hesitation, put a hand on Sulu's shoulder.
"Why don't you pick a genre for now, and we'll work from there, yeah?" he asked, smiling indulgently. Sulu, grateful for the support, nodded and headed off to the action section (Ianto liked Bond, right? There had to be something similar there that they'd both get a kick out of). Which was where they were when Ianto's phone went off, and he had to quietly excuse himself to the end of the aisle. When he came back, though, his face was that neutral mask that Sulu was beginning to associate with bad news. "Sorry," Ianto said, "that was Gwen..."
"Is everything alright?" Sulu asked, taking his hand from where he'd been picking through titles to reach out and take Ianto's. Ianto sighed in response, dropping his eyes to their hands.
"It's Jack," he said, "there's been an accident..." From the way that Ianto said it, it meant that whatever it was, it couldn't have been good. Sure, Jack was immortal, but that didn't mean that Sulu didn't feel sorry for the guy when bad things happened to him.
"Okay," Sulu said, coaxing Ianto on, though he could already see where this was going. "Does Gwen need you to go into work, then?" Ianto nodded.
"It's sometimes better for him to have a familiar face around, when he comes back. Helps him orient himself faster, after..." After having spent so long being dead, he wanted to say, but the words just wouldn't come. He checked his watch. "He's probably got another half an hour at least before he comes back. Gwen says she'll sit with him, but..."
Sulu squeezed his hand. "You want to be there," he said. Ianto nodded. Sulu hooked his other hand under Ianto's chin, bringing his face up so that he could look the other man in the eyes. "Then you should go. This rental shop doesn't look like it's going out of business anytime soon. Another day, alright?"
Ianto nodded, looking disappointed in himself for having to reschedule yet again, but knowing that this was the only option they had. "I'm sorry," he said quietly.
"Don't be," Sulu answered im. "Call me later, to check in? When things get settled down again?" Ianto nodded, and so Sulu squeezed his hand one last time before dropping it. "Go, then. I'll talk to you later." He watched as Ianto ran off to his car and drove away, turning to look a bit forlornly at the movies (for all his words just then, he had been looking forward to tonight, and was a little upset that they had to put it off) before making his way to the back of the store so he could Portkey himself back to his cabin.
