[RL WITH SULU]

[Ianto looks at the people milling around in Mickey Mouse ears, at the rides around him and at the people dressed up as characters, princesses and adventurers and just about everything in between as he roams the streets of what seems to be a pretty extravagant version of Disneyland. Ianto's heard about the parks, but he's never been to one himself, and yet still, he figures that this one must be some sort of uber!park. Like that one time that all the worlds combined together into one giant mash-up, that this was the same thing only with Disney parks.

Ianto stops in front of a rather large sort of man-made pond, watching a ferryboat go by on it, and tries to figure out what he's going to do now that he's walked around and investigated the place.]

Well. I promise I'll try not to make your duty too hard on you, then, if it's any consolation to you. [He tilts his head back at Sulu, smiling gently (and blushing slightly) as he grips Sulu's hand back in his]

So. What d'you suppose we should do now, then?

[parked]

Well... I guess we should go on a roller coaster. [He tugs at Ianto's hand.] Unless you've got your eye on another ride. Aren't a lot of these still popular in the 21st century?

[Ianto shrugs, laughing] I haven't the faintest idea. You do know that I live in Cardiff, right? [he jokes] It's not like we've got a Disney Wales or anything like that, I'm afraid. Closest park's in...Paris, I think it is.

[parked]

Well, yeah, but it's Disney. Even I know some of the older rides and they don't even exist in Disneyland in my time. [He starts moving in a general "thataway" direction.] But okay, then, how about you pick a theme? Everything's themed, so...

[torchwoodteaboy]

How about I narrow it down to...nothing with water? And age-appropriate. And you're not getting me on any teacup ride of any sort, Lieutenant, I don't do spinning. [He shoots the other man a look that says that he shouldn't ask, it's better not to.] Does that give you enough to go on? Honestly, I've not the slightest clue about anything in here, and what with most of it not being visible from the outside... [He shrugs]

What do you think I would like to go on? [He asks, challenging the other man]

[But teacups are fun!

Fine.] I don't really know the rides either but. I dunno. There's nothing age-appropriate for twenty-somethings, really. Not near us, at least. There are roller coasters though...

[Teacups are fun if you don't get motion sickness. If you do...

Ianto doesn't want to be a downer, and so even though he's not really big on roller coasters, he decides that he might be able to at least handle those]

I guess...that roller coasters aren't too bad. Depending.

[parked]

Depending on what? [He nudges Ianto's shoulder and starts towards... well, he's not sure what's this way. He's going with his instincts, here.] Maybe we should just wander around until you agree on a ride with me. How about the mountain one?

[Ianto thinks about it] ...the mountain one should be alright. I just. I don't do any roller coasters that flip or go upside down, is all. [Never had, but especially not after his death-defying car chase ending in being pushed over a cliff. Hadn't really been his idea of a good time, after all.]

[parked]

That's okay. I think there are only a few like that around here, anyway. [He starts off towards the mountain in the distance, then! He can kind of figure why Ianto wouldn't like those, after all.]

[torchwoodteaboy]

I think that you're just trying to get me on a ride to scare me enough to be a complete nancy and cling to you... [He's teasing, now. Of course Sulu's sensitive enough not to completely terrify or embarrass him. He hopes.]

[parked]

Me? [Sulu looks mock aghast.] Really? I wouldn't do something like that. You said you wanted age appropriate, and I don't think Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is really appropriate for twenty-somethings.

[torchwoodteaboy]

[Ianto shook his head, chuckling. He didn't know the ride, but he could tell from the name that Sulu was right] No, the mountain one will do, so long as you don't mind me...still being a bit of a nancy about it.

[parked]

I never mind how you act. [Sulu smiles and raises an eyebrow at Ianto.] Even if you're acting like a nancy.

[torchwoodteaboy]

Oi! [He elbows Sulu in the side with the arm that's holding the other man's hand] You're not supposed to agree with me on that!

[parked]

Well, I don't know! [He teases, nudging Ianto back with more his shoulder than his elbow.] You're the one who keeps saying it. Maybe I don't even know what it means. [He does, but. Your Britishisms are always going to be a good point to tease, Ianto.]

[torchwoodteaboy]

If "nancy" isn't obvious enough for you... You're going to have to start paying more attention. Do some research, perhaps. Maybe you'll learn something new, even.

[parked]

[A sigh.] But we're on vacation. Maybe I don't want to do research. [He pauses, then adds,] This is our second vacation this year, too.

[torchwoodteaboy]

Best not get too accustomed to it. If there are two in this year, who knows how long it'll be before we get another one...

[parked]

Hey, who knows, maybe we'll get another cruise ship? Only this time, without the ghosts. The glass is half full, remember?

[torchwoodteaboy]

Well. Technically, the glass was smashed into your head, if I remember correctly, but. You're right. Who knows what might be to come... [Oh, so witty, here]

[parked]

[Sulu winces at that, reaching up to rub the back of his head.] Yeah, well, it was a half-full glass. And anyway... [If he were Jack, he'd have some choice comebacks for that last bit, but since he's not... He'll just put it on Ianto.] Are you trying to say something there, Mr. Jones?

[torchwoodteaboy]

[In a rare display of public affection, Ianto reaches up and brushes a light touch across Sulu's temple where the offending object had struck, before lowering his head and quirking a gentle smile, blushing, as if he hadn't really done that consciously] ...even if the glass is half-full, maybe next time it's better if it weren't quite so...animate. Most of the vacations we've had together have ended in ways that are almost...well. Too exciting for me. Maybe this time can be the exception, yeah?

[Then again, who is he kidding? There's probably going to be something that pops up this time as well, knowing the pair of them]

[parked]

[Sulu smiles gently at Ianto's touch, leaning his head a little towards Ianto's hand while it's there.] Yeah, I think I could do without the projectile household items or being chased by monsters, or... allergic reactions. But I seriously doubt we'll have to worry about any of that here, that's for sure. It's Disneyland, for crying out loud.

[Ianto nods sagely] If there's any sex pollen in Disneyland, I think I'm going to be scarred for life. There are some things that should never mix, and Disneyland and sex are definitely up there on the list.
