[RL WITH SULU][backdated to 03-20] Shoreleave: Part 2
Ianto had thought that one day on the planet had been exciting enough, but the prospect of another, when Sulu had mentioned it, had been too good to pass up. They'd had such a nice time on the beach, after all. It was only fair that they do a little exploring, let Sulu look for the alien plants that he would want to and get to watch the other man geek out about something for a while. Ianto himself had been embarrassingly excited about the planet and the beach and all the previous day, after all. It would be nice to be able to be the one to sit back and watch the excitement on someone else for a change, reverse roles from the previous day.
They hadn't gotten too early of a start. After all, this was a vacation for the pair of them, and it wouldn't do to have to wake up in the wee hours of the morning (if there were such a thing in space, Ianto didn't really even know). But they gave themselves the better part of the day, and after having a bite to eat (Ianto wasn't sure he would ever get enough of being fascinated with the replicators), and a quick stop by Ianto's flat for more clothes for him (he needed long pants if they might be venturing into the jungle, after all, it was only practical) they found themselves beaming down to the planet again, Sulu with his kit and Ianto with...well. The clothes on his back, really. He didn't really have anything to bring along himself, since they were mostly going to be exploring inland this time.
Ianto looked up at the clear blue sky above him, and smiled at the fact that even the weather seemed to have adjusted so that it was cool enough for him to be comfortable in jeans, but not too cool that it wasn't still pretty warm. "...god," he said. "It's like this place is gorgeous every day." He shot a smile sideways at Sulu. "Better not let me visit for many more days, I might want to stay," he joked.

"You know," Ianto said, echoing his thoughts as his heart-rate finally seemed to be calming down enough for him to strike up a conversation again. "I'm really pretty glad that the pair of us can swim. That jump would have been even worse if there were the possibility of one of us not being able to make it back to the surface after we did so..."
no subject
"I like swimming, honestly. It's one of my favorite ways to work out when I can." He grinned at Ianto, "Of course, I'm usually not wearing all my clothes when I do it." Yesterday had been a really good example of that.

He couldn't help but laugh, even if it got salt water in his mouth. He could see the beach up ahead - they'd reach it in no time. It looked like it led straight back into the jungle, and if he was seeing right, there was even a ridiculously picturesque sort of meadow there. "Hey, at least the water's warm, right? And I think we've found an even more secluded beach than yesterday."
no subject
"More secluded?" He looked up at the beach in front of them, the meadow and the jungle behind that. "Well. It looks nice. I just hope that whatever that thing was, that it gave up and stays well away from here." There's no reason that they had to give up on the day just because of one near-death experience, right?
no subject
"But yeah, see? It's got low cliffs around it. I don't think anyone's been over here at all." He might've been wrong, though. He wasn't sure, and wouldn't be until they actually climbed up on it and passed out. "I dunno about you, but I'm kind of looking forward to resting for a bit."
no subject
At the idea of resting, Ianto let out a sigh. "Honestly, I don't think resting ever sounded quite as appealing as it does right now. I've had just about all the excitement I can handle in one day, and that little nook over there looks nice enough to go lie down in, yeah? There's even some grass, so that we don't have to lie down on the beach and get all sandy, even."
no subject
The idea of passing out on the grass was also a good one; they'd nearly reached the shore, to the point where, if Sulu didn't mind dunking himself under water, he could touch his feet to the ocean floor, and he was pretty ready to do just that. He was probably going to strip down to his underwear, though - he really did not want to try and relax in wet jeans. That was not happening.
no subject
Ianto would probably follow suit. Jeans were pretty much impossible to deal with when they were wet. Hopefully the sun was strong enough and the air dry enough that they would dry relatively fast. He was probably going to burn as well. They hadn't brought the sunblock along for jungle exploration, as far as he was aware, unless Sulu'd packed it. Him and his delicate Welsh complexion would just have to deal with the tropical sun, he supposed. At least the grass would be cool to lie on, he figured. It looked cooler than the sand, at any rate. Maybe that was just wishful thinking.
Ianto's feet brushed the ocean floor and pretty soon he was able to stand. In fact, he was pretty sure the only thing keeping him upright in that moment was the natural buoyancy of the ocean. He'd just have to steel himself up for actually getting out, when they finally reached the shore.

Then again, at least they got vacations. Ianto seemed more to mooch off of Sulu's downtime than get his own. Not that he minded in the slightest, but. It would probably do him - and all of Torchwood - good to take a day off.
The beach only lasted for a hundred yards or so, where it then met with a field of thick grass and small, almost gold flowers that Sulu had never seen before. They were obviously a type of weed or something, but they looked a whole lot more pleasant than thistles, so he didn't bother paying them any mind as he worked on getting his jeans off. It was... not the easiest thing he'd done.
no subject
The jeans are a bit harder. He got the buttons and the zipper undone, but the fabric was clinging to him like a second skin, and peeling them off was pretty damn hard. He makes a sound of frustration. "God, I... I never want to go swimming in jeans ever again," he said. It would be much easier if he had help, but. Well. Ianto was a little more subtle than that. He'd just struggle with them instead, he supposed, as he slowly shimmied out of the offending piece of clothing.

"I never want to jump off a cliff again," he muttered in reply, lying on his stomach with his arms crossed under his head and his head tilted to the side, focusing a little on a nearby flower and admiring it as he zoned in and out.
no subject
Settling down next to Sulu, Ianto sighed in relief, and reached out a hand to lay on Sulu's back, gently. "I can definitely hear you on that one," he said. Not only because he knew the other man's fear, but also...jumping off of a cliff with no guarantee what you're going to make it at the bottom probably isn't anyone's cup of tea. "We made it, though, yeah? That's got to count for something."
no subject
He trailed off, feeling that something was maybe a little amiss with their situation. They'd just run from a creature, jumped off a cliff and swum a fair distance to some secluded shore, but there was something weirder than that going on right then. Sulu just couldn't put his finger on it, really. He took another breath, a shakier one, and rolled onto his side, facing Ianto. The air was pleasantly thick, and he could almost smell something in it other than salt water and grass. "Ianto..."
no subject
"Mmm?" Ianto questioned, unconsciously sliding closer to Sulu, running his hand lightly down the skin of Sulu's arm, wondering at how fit and toned the other man was, and at how nice he smelled, despite the fact that they'd just run for their lives and swam through the ocean, and that logically, he should only smell like salt water at this point.
no subject
But knowing all that was never enough to stop him, and even as he groaned - or tried to groan, it was hard to get enough air to do anything like that - he was pulling himself over to Ianto, pressing chest-to-chest with him even as his eyes started watering. Just a few more seconds, he reasoned incoherently to himself, just a few more and then he could go grab the hypospray he had...
no subject
He was feeling a little breathless himself, so after a moment, he pulled back, but he couldn't pull back completely, so instead he moved to fasten his lips on the other man's neck, laying hot, open-mouthed kisses to Sulu's skin as he did so, his hand moving to slide and rest on Sulu's side as he did so, pressing as firmly as he could against him in the position that they were in and moaning in pleasure.
no subject
"Ianto," he gasped, and at least the pollen couldn't control the kind of tone he used, a panicked, choked and veering towards hysterical one. He couldn't breathe and now that he was getting turned on by more than just the pollen, he was starting to hurt because of it. Damn it - the species of flowers filling the air with aphrodisiac had a much higher potency than anything he'd dealt with before and it was going to make it impossible to not touch Ianto and... ah, he ground his hips against the other as best he could, freeing up a hand to grab at Ianto's shoulder. "Ianto!" he rasped again, pulling in barely enough breath for even that.
no subject
Something was wrong with Sulu, Ianto thought, as he arched against the other man's pressing his hips against his own. Something was wrong. He sounded... He sounded distressed. Not good. Really, really not good. Ianto struggled to get his head about him, struggled to concentrate and pull back and open his eyes, and god. It was so much harder than he had ever anticipated, but he did it. "Sulu," he said, his eyes wide, his pupils dilated slightly, "what... What's..." Almost against his will, he ground against the other man again, hips pressing into hips as he waded through the fog in his mind, trying to focus.
no subject
One of his hands reached to wrap around his own throat lightly, unaware of the fact that there was a red rash running along his forearm as he did so. His flight or fight instinct was kicking in in a terrible way and he forced himself not hit Ianto as he pushed at the man, trying to get him away even though his entire body was saying no, don't do that. Gesturing wildly in the direction he'd tossed the kit, starting to sincerely feel the lack of oxygen, his vision graying around the edges.
no subject
Ianto let out a noise of terror, reaching out to cup the other man's face. "O-oh, oh my god, Sulu? Sulu??" He tilted Sulu's head back, opening up his airway as much as he could, but it was obvious that that wasn't doing much at all. Ianto's heart was in his throat, his pulse racing, now from the adrenaline of fear rather than any sort of arousal that was lingering underneath that. "Shit! God, shit!! I..." Ianto cast a frantic look around. Sulu wasn't looking any better. He wasn't looking very good at all, and he sounded absolutely horrible, and Ianto's mind worked frantically to try to get on top of things. There wasn't anyone there to call, there wasn't anyone to save them, they weren't going to get anywhere on time and Ianto had no idea...
The kit. Sulu was motioning to the kit. Lightning fast, Ianto was up and tumbling toward it. There had to be something in there, some sort of...god, who knew at this point? Ianto turned the entire thing upside down, emptying its contents onto the ground as he desperately searched through it for whatever it was that Sulu seemed to be motioning towards.
no subject
He tried to shout to Ianto that it was the hypospray in the inside pocket but there was no way he could get out a word, much less one as hard as "hypospray" - he could only hope Ianto would realize what it was when he saw it. Instead, he looked up to the cloudless sky and tried to focus on that for a while, despite the gray seeping in all around.
no subject
And then it hit him. The rash, the trouble breathing, the...whatever it was that had come over the both of them. It was the flowers. The flowers they had been lying in, that Sulu had been face-down in for a moment or two there. He was allergic. There was something about them that was causing this reaction, and it had to be an allergy.
Ianto knew that it was a risk, but he was going to take it. He couldn't very well ask Sulu to tell him what he was looking for, and there weren't any markings on the thing to suggest that this was what it was for exactly. But if he were to hazard a guess, well. This was as good a reason as any to keep a hypo around. Positioning himself over Sulu, he braced one hand on the man's shoulder, took in a few shuddering breaths (he really didn't know what he was doing with this huge needle, he didn't like the fact that he was going to have to use it himself), before he plunged the hypo into the crook of the other man's neck and shoulder, injecting the medication as he did so.
no subject
But now that he was only focusing on getting in as much air as possible, the pollen's effects were starting to kick back into gear. Barely missing a heartbeat, Sulu's hands reached out and grabbed either side of Ianto's neck, pulling him into a desperate, vaguely hysterical kiss.
no subject
When they got there, Ianto collapsed in the sand with the other man, ending up on top of him, his lips finding the skin of the other man's collarbone within seconds. "Are... Shit," Ianto said, as his head started to cloud up again, his hands tracing Sulu's sides even as he tried to get a clear thought out. "Are you alright? Are you okay?" He shifted, hips meeting Sulu's beneath his and he paused for a moment to let out a throaty moan. "Please," he said, the word catching on the tail end of the moan. "Please tell me you're alright, please..." He nuzzled the crook of Sulu's neck, nipping slightly.
